“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, will award to me on that day - and not to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing”

Anytime it was ripe for the righteous to transition, God oftentimes reveals it to them. An instance was in the case of Stephen - he saw heaven opened and Jesus sitting at the right hand of God (Act 7:55-56). Also in the above scriptural passage, as Paul’s work on earth was rounding off, he confidently stated his faithful walk with God and the glorious reward that awaited him before Christ and was not jittery of death. This should be the attitude of every disciple of Christ upon getting close to the finish line, but only a few demonstrate this. How prepared are we for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ? Are we calmly or fearfully awaiting it? Do not forget that we are sojourners on earth and will surely return home to give an account of what we have done. Therefore, keep intact your faith in Jesus Christ. But if you are still on the other side, reroute your steps in repentance to Christ so to be counted worthy of His Kingdom.
